Fiverr - a genuine review

I recently started a Fiverr account as a seller and thought of doing a genuine review. Till now the experience was bit of a mix. So let's dive deeper.

What are the things I liked? Well, honestly I liked the idea of Freelancing since I myself is a freelancer. The things which makes Fiverr different from other similar platforms like Freelancer.com and Upwork.com is that, it's still a maturing platform and does not have much competitions except certain areas. One other thing that catched my eye was the seller levels. Other than the ratings buyers give, there are ways you can get badges like "Top Rated Seller". The also released a new feature called "Pro Verification" which is gaining much popularity lately.

Before you get too much excited about these, lets quickly take a peak at what I didn't like during the short tenure. Like any other platform, being a newbie it's extremely difficult to get you first few orders and thereby the reviews. Another thing I noticed is the strict "Terms of Conditions" that you are not supposed to exchange contact informations. That's right, no phone number, no email, no skype and if their AI detect that you are trying to exchange contacts, you will be suspended. However, they have a very nice chat system integrated into the system. Another thing that I'm not conviced is that they take a whooping 20% cut on your sales. One final thing to add is that I read so many compaints that the customer support is in favor of the buyers and not sellers. Many sellers have had very bad experience abusive buyers and yet the support team was buyer-sided itseems. I don't have any such personal experience though.

Alright, keeping aside the pros and cons, lets come to the point. Is a Fiverr profile worth it? My take is definetly an yes, provided you are genuine. I will be updating this page with more contents on how I managed to get 100s of sales in just 20 days. Stay tuned. Follow or subscribe in email to get these exclusive contents.
